Refection 16: Study Week

Assalamualaikum w.b.t and hi everybody.

Alhamdullillah we have finished our learning on last week. Now it is study week times. I don’t know how to describe my feeling right now, I am so nervous to sit for examination especially for this subject.

All of us will be sit for Educational Technology examination 0n 6 January 2014. We really2 did not have much time for study because examination just around the corner.

Preparation that I have done is I check past year examination question for this subject. Then I find that there are two section that we have to answer which are multiple choice questions and short essays.

Besides that, I also make some revision and read notes that have been shared by my coursemates. Thank to them because I do not have all notes for this subject.

I really hope that I can score for this subject and get a good result. Ameen..

Reflection 14 : EduTechnovation Day

Assalamualaikum w.b.t and hi everybody!

I do not know how to describe my feeling today. It all mixed up of excited, happy and nervous. All of this feels because it is Edu Technovation Day, a big day for all of us who taking this subject. Today we have to present our video, poster and storyboard. After all hard work and struggle, finally it comes to the end.

We need to present our video again as there are some improvement we make in this video. Alhamdulillah Dr Rosseni seem satisfy with our final video. I enjoys watching video from others group because all of them make a great video. Well it such a great work for since we are an amateur in production of video. All of them make full effort and work hard.

Besides that, our poster also praised by Dr as she see that a lot of improvement we had made. As well as other, their poster also so amazing just like a professional works. I most love poster of GG Creation group as their poster is very pure, I think haha.. I also like their video most compare to other videos. I think they deserve to become champion. Second place is Ladies Production group about the preservation of Jawi, followed by Triple N Single I group’s.This is link for final video. Hope you enjoys…

My group is fourth places but we accept the decision because others group is better than us. But actually all of us are winner just like what Dr Rosseni said. Yes, you are totally right Dr. We are winner because we learn from zero until we know how to make a good quality of video and poster. I can used all knowledge that have been learned from this class in my future. As I am taking TESL, so probability of me to become a teacher is quite high. Maybe I can apply all this knowlegde in classroom. Last but not least, thank you so much to Dr Rosseni, Mr Helmi, Brother  Fuad and Kak Ana for teach and guide all of us in this class. I really really appreciates it..

Reflection 13: Pre EduTechnovation Day

Assalamualaikum w.b.t and hello everybody.. 🙂

Today is Pre EduTechnovation Day. The day that make my coursemates and I become stress as we have to present our full video, presentation of slide and show our poster. There are many work that have to be done related to that day.

Before that, we need to upload our video into Facebook’s group so that others and lecturer can watch and give their comment and opinion. By that, we can improve our work in making a better quality of video. We receive a lot of comment from Dr Rosseni about our video and poster. There are a lot of things need to be improve as what Dr says that the message that we want to deliver did not reach to people’s heart. She also says that our video is typical. My group accept all this comment and we will make it according to what Dr’s says.

We decide to make a few change in our video although all of us lack in time. We feel stress but we stay strong as we are in a team. We want to add other some newspaper cutting and interview about abandoned mother with public people into the video. We also edit our poster as there are some of the part that Dr do not satisfy.

Finally, on the EduTechnovation Day, we do our best in presentation of video and poster. I am so grateful that that my coursemates and tutors understand the message that we wabt to deliver through the video. Alhamdulillah.. 🙂

Reflection 12

Assalamualaikum w.b.t and hi everyone! =)

Here is quote that I find it can motivates me in my every job.

      This is such a hectic week for all of us as we get a bundle of assignment. I have to stay up until morning to finish the assignment. I feel a little bit stress because there are only 2 weeks to go before study week.

Today we got some lecture from Dr Rosseni about expectation of marks that we will get with our assignment all this time. It such a surprising news for us as Dr says that based on marks she count for our blog’s reflection. The highest is 10 out of 30. Oh my God! How I can get A in this subject if carry marks just a little.

I feel very stressful but I take it as a challenge for me to improve my blog’s quality. Before this, I also realizes that I just report what I have learns in the class and not really doing reflection in true context. I also like to do reflection at last minutes. But we still have chance to improve our marks. Dr says that she will evaluate 5 of our best reflection in the past and 5 from our remaining weeks.

Besides that, Mr Helmi, Bro Fuad and Kak Ana also watch our video progress. They do comment our video such as some of part they think  too long. So, we should make it shorter and precise. Mr Helmi says that we may include some texts to make others more understand our video.

Reflection 11: Making Our Own Poster

Assalamualaikum and hi everybody. Today is such a good day for me.

I am totally excited as today we are going to learn on how to make a poster! We also have to make a poster for our video. We will present our poster on Edutechnovation Day that will be held on week 14. At that day, we have to present our slide, video and poster altogether. It is a big day for this subject.

The poster that we makes must suit with our video. It must portrays our ideas as we are going to do about ‘ the appreciation of His favour’ which is mother. So, we have to find something that show how grateful we are to have a mother. We also may add some effect on the poster to make it more real.

So, here are few steps on how to create a poster:

1) Set your canvas

FILE > NEW

PRESET > INTERNATIONAL PAPER

SIZE > A3

RESOLUTION > 100 – 150

Then click OK.

2) Import a picture as the background

FILE > OPEN > CHOOSE A PICTURE FROM THE FILE IN YOUR COMPUTER

3) To have a landscape image

IMAGE > IMAGE ROTATION > 90′ CLOCKWISE

4) To set up a new canvas

WINDOW > ARRANGE > FLOAT ALL IN WINDOW ( do it two times)

5) To drag the picture from the 1st canvas

Click on the MOVE TOOL icon then drag the picture

6)To adjust the size of the picture

Click the box SHOW TRANSFORM CONTROL.

Press the left click with the SHIFT button on your keypad simultaneously to adjust the size of the picture without changing the picture’s proportion.

7) To colour the background

WINDOW > LAYERS > BACKGROUND > GRADIENT TOOL > BUCKET TOOL > Choose the colour that you prefer > Move the cursor to the background then click it

8) To give effects to the picture

IMAGE > ADJUSTMENT > PHOTO FILTER

9) To add text to the picture

 SELECTION TOOL > TEXT

Click the cursor on your image and then type your text

10) To change the colour of your text

Right click on the TEXT’S LAYER > BLENDING OPTIONS

In the future, I think I will use poster in the classroom as I am a teacher to be. By using poster, it will attract students become more interested with learning. Students nowadays are more advance in technology and they want something new in learning.

Reflection 10: Presentation Video

Assalamualaikum and good day everybody..

Today we are going to present the progress in our video. We only manage shoot for the first three scene for this time. Another scene will be shoot next time.  This presentation will be evaluate as all of us will be given marks. Actually it is midterm examination. It is really suprising as we have never sit for midterm before this. Moreover we have been told about it on last minute, so we do not have much time to make our preparation.

We have to sit together and discuss about the presentation. This is the guideline given for our content of slides:

• prepare a medium of presentation by using powerpoint
• the content includes the title, group members, title of the video, the objectives of making the video
• presentation of the complete parts of the video and the edited ones
• presentation of the scenes (complete or incomplete)
• your expectation towards the video

We divide slide equally as all of us must speak in the front. I think there a lot of things that can be improved from our video as we get some feedback from Dr. Rosseni and Mr Helmi.

Reflection 9: Adobe Photoshop CS4

 Assalamualaikum w.b.t and hello all..

This time Mr. Helmi taught us on how to use Adobe Photoshop CS4. It actually my first time using this software because I am not really exposed in editing photos.

Adobe Photoshop CS4 or CS3 and many more can be used for edit our pictures so that we can add more effect to the picture. We have to upload a picture then we can start editing it. There are many effect and transition that we can apply into the picture.

I think that Mr Helmi taught us very fast because sometime I lost but after been given guidance by him, I can do it finally. I also asks help from my coursemates because some of them are already expert in using this software.

I think this software is very useful in our video project. We can use it to edit the picture, because we want to show different in present and past times.

Reflection 8 : Window Movie Maker ^_^

Assalamualaikum w.b.t and good morning. We meet again this time.. Okay, for this week I feel more excited as I learns how to use Window Live Movie Maker. This software suite and offers the ability to create and edit video.

  It is very important for me to know how to use it as I will using it to make our video.Actually this is my second time using this software but I’m still not really familiar with this software. But I am willing to learn and I’ll explore more.

Mr. Helmi teach us how to import video and picture into this software. It just an easy step. Now let see this images to make it more clear..

Then, we explore the effects to make our video become more interesting. Many effect such as Zig Zag, Shatter and Fade. We  also adding some transition between two pictures, video clips, or titles in any combination on the storyboard/timeline. Effect can be used to add a special effects to our movie.

By using this software, we also can put audio that suitable with our video. We also can cut the original audio and replace it with other audio. In our video, we also add old film effect to show the differences in times.

Reflection 7 : Online Discussion

Assalamualaikum and hello everyone.. Hopefully all of you have a good day.

Now it is holiday time.. Now I’m writing this post at my village, woahh.. I feel so excited and calm because I can stay besides my beloved family. 🙂

Although it is holiday but does not mean that I just relax and do nothing. My classmates and I are doing online discussion on Twitter. Kak Analisa has tweets a statement on Twitter. The statement is  “Integrating technology with classroom practice can be a great way to strengthen engagement among students.” We have to give any ideas or comments about it.

I do agree with the statement. In my opinion, I think that technology is very important because most of use use technology in our daily life. We often use Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo Mail and others to communicate and strengthen bond  among us. We also update status so that our friends know what we are doing.

In education, we use technology such as Facebook’s group and blog’s group to share our knowledge and information. If there is anything that we don’t know, we will ask the question in the Facebook and our friends will give their feedback.

In contrast, use of technology in education also gives negative impact to students. Some student does not focus on learning as they too  busy with social networking. This will make they lose and not understand what teacher teaches.

In a nutshell, we as a student must know how to use technology in classroom wisely. That’s all. Thank you. 🙂

Reflection 6: Shoot Our Video

Assalamualaikum and hello everyone..

It is shooting time for us. I am so excited to make play in the video. We decide to do the scene at Pusat Pangajian Bahasa Linguitsik (PPBL). The setting there is very suits with our story.

Altogether there are 6 scenes in our video. There are the scenes:

1st scene : An old sad woman is being alone at an old folk home.

2nd scene: A nurse and a doctor is walking while talking about the woman along the path at the old folk home. Suddenly they saw the old woman is alone.

3rd scene: The nurse approach the old woman and try to talk to her. The old woman tells the nurse about her wrongdoing in the past towards her mother. (Flashback)

4th scene: The old woman in the past is fighting with her mom.

5th scene: (Done with the flashback and back to the reality) The old woman is advising the nurse not to be like her and be a good dauhgter.

6th scene: The nurse suddenly remembers her mom after listening to a sad story from the woman. Then she gives a call to her mom.

This time we manage to do only three scenes. I think it quite okay for us that does not  know anything about photography..

We also apply what we learn in class in our shooting. For examples, we used dolly, pan and normal angle shot.
